24-HOUR CLOCK - ZULU CLOCK
Called by many different names, this 24-hour clock can keep up with time
anywhere in the world. Initially known as Greenwich Mean Time (GMT),
world time is currently referred to as Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).
Civilians still refer to this time as GMT (the average time that the earth takes to rotate from noon-to-noon) while miliary and aviation say "Zulu". Aviation, weather forecasting, flight plans, air traffic control, and maps use the UTC system to avoid confusion about time zones and daylight saving time. Time zones from around the world are expressed as either positive or negative amounts from the GMT or UTC time. Click on these wesites below for interesting and technical information regarding universal time.
