Called by many different names, this 24-hour clock can keep up with time anywhere in the world.   Initially known as Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), world time is currently referred to as
Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). Civilians still refer to this time as GMT  (the average time that the earth takes to rotate from noon-to-noon) while miliary and aviation say "Zulu".  Aviation, weather forecasting, flight plans, air traffic control, and maps use the UTC system to avoid confusion about time zones and daylight saving time.  Time zones from around the world are expressed as either positive or negative amounts from the GMT or UTC time.   Click on these wesites below for interesting and technical information regarding universal time.

The 24-Hour clock day begins with 00:01, or one minute after midnight.Hours beginning with 13 or higher are p.m.  To convert from 24-hour timeto a p.m.  time, subtract 12 from any time greater than 13.

This 24-hour quartz clock movement/motor will make a new clock or repair an old clock.  The minute hand makes one rotation every 60 minutes, the hour hand rotates once each 24 hours, and the second hand rotates every 60 seconds.

  • Fits dials/cases up to 1/8" thick
  • Threaded shaft is 5/16" in diameter and 3/15" in length
  • Total shaft length 7/16" and 5/8" with second hand installed
  • Push-on black metal minute and hour hands, second hand included
  • Minute hand is 3 5/8" from center mounting hole to tip
  • Hour hand is 2 3/4"
  • Comes with rubber wash (if needed), brass washer and hex nut
